LOVE FROM ANGE

First Post!!!

So this is my first post! I've created this blog as a creative outlet... to express what I like and maybe even love right now, what's on my mind all the time.  It will likely be a combination of fashion, home design, and what's going on in my life.

A little about me?
I'm a 22 year old university student in Canada.

Here we go!
Things I'm crazy about right now:

(1)     LACE-UP STILETTO BOOTIES - like these (as seen on stylehive.com):

They're selling out on VS... I've had my eyes on these for over a year now, and I have a feeling they'll be really big this winter.

I love that these have a vintage look and they are just sexy anyways.
If anyone knows where I could find a pair like these for a reasonable price, please share! So far the best price I've seen is ~ $60.  I would really like a pair with good grip on the bottom, for traction in these Canadian winters.

(2)     FLOWEY FLORAL BLOUSE

I really love these feminine blouses. Unfortunately I'm very picky about prints, I only wear them if I love them, so finding a blouse that fits my budget and my taste might be a challenge! I'd wear one with a similar outfit as Katie with a cardigan (or blazer or shrug), jeans (or leggings) and awesome leather boots. The blouse on the right is from forever21 and I LOVE IT. This summer I have really wanted a floral playsuit with shorts) but never found "the one" for "the right price."

(3)      I want to make my own DIY headboard!!!

Here is instructions from House and Home magazine, that I can't wait to complete!

(Before and After pictures to follow!)

My colour scheme in my bedroom is very light and airy, with light woods, a lot of sheer white, pale yellow, and pale minty green.  My bedspread is a simple minty green/white reversible print of vines and leaves. I wouldn't do a printed fabric for the headboard probably something neutral and light with texture or a pale yellow.

This project actually happens to be more practically motivated - we recently hooked up a little tv in our bedroom (my bf needs it on to fall asleep, and therefore we had been crashing on the couch!) SO... sitting up against the wall and awckwardly adjusting pillows to get comfy is getting on my nerves.

We've also been really minimal in the bedroom, and we only have one side table (a hand-me down spray painted white).  I'm considering getting another one for my side of the bed, and I don't care if it doesn't match the other mammoth square one. I'm thinking something spindly, small and antique(looking). Saw one the other day by the trash somebody left behind, and it was gone when I went back for it :(

(3)    Lately I've moved a white shelf (they plastic ugly type - for garages or attics) out of my bedroom and into my storage room and now I have a empty gap in my room between my dressing table in the corner.  My bf says he likes it and we don't need anything but it looks odd to me. I want to find a simple tall white bookshelf thats inexpensive.

LOVE the BILLY bookcase from IKEA in white:

I want to make the open shelves decorative, with bins (I already have), bookends, novels, candles, and whatever like the image above. I also love how they painted the back of the bookshelf, I think wallpaper or wrapping paper in a print I like could also be used!

(4)     A tank with a cool design on the front.  I've seen these a lot they look great under a blazer/cardigan or on their own. I recently realized I only wear solids anymore (in my defense I love wearing interesting necklaces) - in desperate need of something with personality!  Like prints, I'm so picky about what I wear, I dislike trashy sayings and brand names.  I need to find something unique, whimsical, whitty, cute and ME.  Maybe another DIY??? Hmmmmmm....

Here's a link to Beauty Crush - she's fab on you tube!!!  In her second look in this video she wears a cute tank that looks like you're in an x-ray - unique & spunky

(5)     Re-top our desk.

My bfs desk is our school - life catch-all. Its made from mdf, but its sleek and modern and awesome. Unfortunately water from a spilled glass (compliments of my thirsty and clumsy cat) has seeped into some tiny niks and bubbled up the mdf making our sleek desk look cheap and just plain ick. My plan is to place a fabric or wallpaper on top and then top it off with a slab of glass (or on a budget - plexiglass).  I'd love to add a pop of red, something graphic and fun to our desk. ANOTHER DIY... o man I love crafts and DIYS. So many plans, so little time. Of course, before and after shots to follow (in the event it ever happens).

(6)     Organize my jewellery (especially necklaces!)

IDEAS:

- jewelry tree

- stackable jewellery organizer - each level pulls out like a drawer each sold separately

- peg board mounted on wall with hooks to hang jewellery

-antique ladder leaning against wall displaying bags, scarves, necklaces and bracelets
